Sephora, Bath & Body Works Haul and Lipgloss Review

On Friday, I went to Yorkdale and decided to look around due to their "Continued" Boxing Day (or Week 0.o) deals that were going on.

We went to Sephora because Noah needed to buy a gift for one of his friends. I merely was looking around and WASN'T going to buy anything (doesnt that always happen when you go shopping). Than I noticed this lipgloss and the color just GOT ME and I ended up buying it.

This is bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss. The Color is called "Hypnotic". When you see this in the store, your like "O.M.G this is going to look amazing on my lips," especially paired with lipstick.

When applied on the hand it gives off a nice orange like tone but when you alter it under the light, it shifts between green-purple type color which really grabs you. When you open the package you get the same triple tone color which gets you so pumped to apply it and work that lip gloss to wherever your going. So whats my HONEST review...?

When I tried on my basic purple lipstick (I didn't want to use my MAC Heroine lipstick) and applied it on top, I didn't really see much of a difference. Truthfully it looks like a PLAIN CLEAR lipgloss. So I tried applying little more on and you can "slightly" see the difference in the light but the whole color alternating thing....Nah that doesn't work. Compared to what your expecting from when you look at its appearance.

Now is it a BAD lip gloss overall? 

No, its a DECENT lipgloss. It does make your lips look very nice and glossy. You can use it either by itself or with a nice lipstick or lip pencil. Maybe I need to try this when I go OUTSIDE on a nice sunny day or during summer which is when Im going to witness some better results.

Basically, if your buying this lip gloss for the whole color changing thing...Nah...dont do it! There are much better lip gloss brands out there. I would honestly return it but since I used it, Ill be nice and keep it though my $21 bucks is gone.

After Sephora, I headed over to B&BW since I wanted some lotion to moisturize my legs (CAUSE THEY ARE DRYYYY and of course summer coming and I want them to be dress/short ready). So They were doing some more sales. It was 50% of the lotions and buy 3 for $12 on the body wash.  FYI the original price for the lotions were $13 bucks (even on boxing day) so I'm happy I was able to get it now for 50% than on boxing day with NO sale -_-

Finally went to Costco for some food shopping and picked this up! Can you believe its $8.99!!! One in shoppers drug mart was $5.99 and I got 4 for 8.99!!! I SMELL Savings <3~~~

Blueberry Acai, Strawberry Sorbet, Summer Fruit & Sweet Mint

Currently tried the Blueberry Acai. I understand why its so popular now! Really does wonders on your lips, especially mine (due to my normal usage of lipstick).

That's all I bought. Spent about $55 bucks for my little haul which was a good deal with all the sales. Won't be shopping for awhile, gotta start saving up for the travels and mommy presents for when she returns :P

GUESS, Nike Free Runs, Bath&Body Works Haul- Review

Today I did a little Shopping!!! I went to GUESS, Sport Chek and Bath&Body Works at Eaton Centre with Anissa and Lina.

GUESS:
Item purchased: Delany Mini Tote (BROWN)
Reason of purchase: GIFT

I bought this bag from my friend Lina as her Birthday/Christmas Gift. I'm personally not a GUESS fan (due to bad annoying obnoxious friend who had an obsession with GUESS and loved to rub in my face how "rich" she was by buying bags all the time with her parents money -_-. However, this tote did catch my eye. The quality is good, the colour is classy and original so it can be used literally with any outfit whether its just out with friends or for a more casual night at the bar. I don't think it would be a good fit with a very "high class" outfit but if combined properly with a good outfit, it can be pulled off. It was $70 dollars plus tax so around $85 dollars which is a pretty good price for a mini tote seeing as other brands such as MK etc will sell this bag for around $150-200 and it's slightly smaller in size/shape. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the style, quality and presentation of the bag. Not to mention my friend absolutely LOVED it! Defiantly recommend it as a gift esp for Christmas which is fast approaching...

Reason for purchase: I NEED RUNNING SHOES 

Me and my bestie Anissa went to Sport Chek cause they're currently have a BUY ONE get the other 50% off sale which they usually do maybe 4-5 times/year. I decided to take advantage of this since I only have one main pair of underarmor running shoes and they are pretty dead (like the inside liner is falling out -_-). Since I'm joining the gym next month (Already paid for my membership WOOT), I need some new kicks. Also, Im personally in LOVE with Nike and Underarmor brands. Their shoes have always been my favourite due to the unique combination of colours and quality. I was going to buy one Nike and one Underarmor but they didn't have the colour I was looking for in my size (I have huge feet, size 11....Genetics). 

1. Nike Free 3.0 V5 Runners-> Turquoise/Grey/Sliver "Tiffany Blue"

I'm officially IN LOVE with these!!! I have seen this pair ALL over Instragram used with its given nickname "Tiffany Blue Nike Shoes". The colour combination is perfect, the blue alone is a such a nice shade (Turquoise is one of my favourite shades of blue). I originally never noticed it since it was located on the VERY top shelf. Anissa had pointed it out to me when they didn't have my size in the underarmor shoe I was interested in. THANK GOD they had this in my size! This was a must buy regardless of the promotion. Price: $129.99

2. Nike Free 5.0 Runners-> Hyper Grape/Court Purple, Summit White/Hyper Turquoise 

This was the last pair in 11 the store associate could find. Since its so hard to find my size, it was difficult for the sale associate to find me something I really liked. I needed a second pair to get the 50% off deal so I decided hey, lets get another pair! This was a good combination (dark purple with tiffany blue!!! C'mon WHY NOT). I was REALLY happy with this purchase. Original price: $129.99 

BATH & BODY WORKS:

Item purchased: 2 Candles, 1 Body Lotion, 1 Christmas Limited Candle Holder
Reason of purchase: Need candles that will last more than a week, other bought d/t promotion

Finally, I went to B&BW because I've wanted candles from them for a REALLY long time! I've seen their candles on many Youtube hauls, room decor tours etc, so I was really interested in getting some myself. I love lighting up candles as well since my Mom does it ALL the time, so I kinda got use to it. Also, it helps when Im home alone and playing video games or watching TV. So currently, they're doing a Buy 2 get 2 FREE OR Buy 3 get 3 Free! I honestly should have bought 3 and get 3 but I decided to budget myself since I have more Christmas shopping to get out of the way and just pick some more up later. 

1. Cinnamon Carmel Swirl Candle: The scent is pretty nice overall. Many of the other candles either had weird combinations or just couldn't be smelled AT ALL (and I would not waste money on something I can't smell when NOT lit). The Carmel is a little stronger than the Cinnamon but the combination is very soothing to the nose and if lit complements one another. 

Price: $22 

2. Japanese Cherry Blossom Candle/Body Lotion: To be honest, I've had my eye on this particular lotion for a LONG time! One of my previous friends had bought me the body wash (gave it to my mom to use, so never really got to enjoy the scent) but I've wanted a lotion version to either carry around during work, or to apply after my showers to prevent dry skin. This MUST be very popular since I've wanted this for about 1-2 years ago and its STILL here. I love the scent so much that I bought both the candle and lotion (would have honestly bought the portable lotion container too). I tried the lotion today, applying small amount to my hands (around 2145pm) and now it being 0530am now, I can STILL smell the fragrance in my hands. My hands are still soft, smooth and feel moisturized compared to other lotions which the scent would fade within the hour and reapplying would be necessary. I'm VERY impressed. Price: $22/ FREE (for the lotion, originally $12.50)

3. Christmas Limited Edition Candle Holder: Finally, I decided to get at least one Candle Holder, for my lovely candles and to make my room a BIT more stylish. As you can see in the top picture, my desk is pretty small but has enough room to decorate it. Since its Christmas its a good holiday season decoration to add to my desk (which I almost never sit at, unless playing my 3DS or PS3). I just loved the design and how it holds the candle. Even when Christmas is over its still a nice candle holder esp for B&BW candles. Price: FREE (original $11.99)

Customer Service was Excellent in ALL 3 stores and I had a good shopping day! I'm really enjoying B&BW products so I may pass by there tomorrow to get more...well see =D. Till next time

Pickle Barrel Restaurant/Bar/Cafe - Yorkdale Review

Today I went to Pickle Barrel (I don't know why I spell Pickle wrong sometimes -__-), at Yorkdale Shopping Centre. Ive went to this location I believe 3 times in total. When you enter, you have to go down to the 2nd floor. Once there, you will either be serviced to your tables OR must walk down to the second entrance  to be seated in the other dinning area (this during days when its less busy).

I have never had a bad experience with this location pickle barrel. Customer service is usually pretty good, washrooms are clean (you now can wave your hand on the side of the door and it will automatically open 0.o), and servers are quick. Depending on how busy it is determines how long your food may take, however, PB tries to give you appetizers and drinks real fast so your mouth is occupied while you wait for the main course. So what we ordered;

DRINKS: 
Iced Cafe Mocha. I only tried this since both occasions Noah always orders it so I decided why not? It has expresso, chocolate,  frozen yogurt, and milk. To finish it off, is a nice amount of whip cream on top. The drink texture is slightly thick but smooth enough to go through the straw, for those who love to drink really fast. The combination was REALLY nice. I personally did not think it would taste that great but I WAS impressed (10/10). Took me some time to finish it (literally was done when I paid the bill) so it not necessary to order anything else besides from Water if you really want to. May be tempted to buy another though :P. Price: 3.99 

APPETIZER:
Crispy Calamari was next on the list. I usually order this regardless of restaurant (Jack Astors, Moxies, Joeys) since it is a really good appetizer. The sauces are different at each location, Jack Astors having spicy tomato type sauce and a nice garlic ranch mix, Joey having a spicy Mayo, and Moxies also having a spicy mayo. With PB, it comes with roasted peppers aioli and spiced tomatillo sauce. Lemon is put on the side for you to add to your pleasure (totally recommended with lemon, without it makes it very dry). Overall, it was good. My ONLY complaint is the amount you get compared to Jack Astors. For $10.99 (same price at JA, 11.99-12.99 at Joeys and Moxies), the amount is really small. Maybe for one person its a good amount, but for 2 or more, nope. Sure its an appetizer but still for the price, they could do better. However, today amount was better than previous visits

Buffalo Chicken Wings (1lbs- Dinner Option), was what I ordered. I never knew there was a dinner option which comes with fries, coleslaw and gravy (it was never brought up previously). It comes with carrot/celery sticks and bleu cheese dip. For the blue cheese dip, PB changed their previous dip which was much more of a liquid type form and easier to glaze over your wings compared to the new "thick" version which is more of a dip-bite version. Their portion is much smaller, which requires you to probably get two servings. The bleu cheese itself was pretty strong (not a huge fan of bleu cheese but it goes well with wings) so I didn't touch the second dip I requested. It terms of the sauces, originally you can get Honey Garlic, BBQ, and Buffalo Hot. However, apparently they have removed the honey garlic (permanent) so I had to get the BBQ/Hot option compared to my usual HoneyG/Hot (very good combo, try it!). Overall the food was "okay". I only ate about 5 of the wings (I didn't like the mix), the blue cheese was too thick, and coleslaw was really watery. I really only enjoyed the fries with the gravy. I rate it a 5.5/10. I could have just gotten the wings compared to the dinner option which made it $15.99 than the original $10.99

MAIN DISH:
Lobster Grilled Cheesed,  was what Noah ordered. It consisted of lobster, spinach, brie, swiss cheese, twelve grain bread, french fries (regular OR sweet potato), and coleslaw. It seemed very filling and its contents were all good in amount. I would rate it 9/10 and the next on my "try out" list. Price is $11.99

Total Bill was $57.98 & $5 tip which equalled to $63 dollars

Customer Service: 9/10 (was pleased but expected a bit more)
Food: 8/10 (the chicken wings really brought the score down everything else was amazing)
Would I Go Back: YES

Regardless, PB food is good for its prices most of the time and service is pretty good overall. Environment is Classy and Elegant and good for dinner with friends or a date.

Pandora Jewellery Disney/Winter Collection - Fairview Mall Review

Chriselle Lim-> Fashion Blogger collaborates with Pandora

Today I went to Pandora Jewellery, Fairview location to look into the Disney &Winter Collections which got released today Nov. 1. This is a limited edition collection that usually occurs during Christmas time for Pandora. So this is my review on Pandora, its customer service, and my current pandora charms. 

Pandora Jewellery is one of the few retailers that provide unique, authentic jewellery at an affordable price. The "charm bracelet" concept alone, is one of the most popular aspects of Pandora, offering various number of charms (more than 600), all with different meanings and perfect to buy for oneself or gifts for others. They defiantly embrace their key phrase "Unforgettable moments" because they're jewellery will have a way to remind you of events/people/occasions that were memorable and deserve a item to represent that moment.

I purchased my Pandora bracelet back in September of this year. I was introduced to the concept by one of my teachers and thought it was a unique. To be able to wear a bracelet that matches pretty much anything, looks expensive (the more charms, higher the value) and most importantly, HAD meaning to my life was a good deal. My Mom paid for me (Thank you Mommy XD) and my bracelet consisted of the following charms (including the ones I purchased today:

1.Sterling Sliver Bracelet- > $75 (required)
2. Korean Doll Charm-> $45, Meaning: My Korean music obsession

3. Love of My Life, Fancy Pink (2)-> $110 Meaning: My Mom Loves Me & I Love Her

4. Disney Sparkling Mickey & Hearts- > $95 Meaning: Love Mickey

5. Disney Minnie Pave-> $75, Meaning-> always love Minnie ALOT

6. King of the Jungle-> $45, Meaning-> My new Dad, King of Our world <3~ 

Total Value: $445

In total I have 6 charms out of the max 20 charms that can fit on the bracelet. The combination I have to admit really complements one another, especially with the sliver/pink mix. Im debating whether to add gold but with the other charms I'm planning on investing in, this bracelet will probably be mostly pink/sliver combo and will centre around my family, friends, hobbies and profession.

Now to talk about Pandora Customer Service:

I have went into two Pandora Locations so far: Yorkdale and Fairview. 

One of the negative about Yorkdale location (or the mall in general), is that they base their clients literally on appearance. Meaning, when you enter the store in a pair of sweats and don't look very "fancy", Don't expect to be served (unless its Michael Kors). When I went to show Noah the charms I were interested in, the two sales representatives didn't pay any attention to us. However, when two white females entered in the store, they were welcomed and address to immediately (racist much >3>). So I took my 200 bucks and decided not to purchase from that location. 

Fairview has been where BOTH my Pandora purchased have been conducted and I have never had a bad experience. Both encounters, I was serviced immediately when I walked in (First by a beautiful chinese girl, Kimi and Second, by a white girl named Cameron). Both were friendly, inviting, served us immediately, looking into detail to find charms that would fit my currently bracelet and were really outgoing. Its rare to get such service so, I talked to the manager herself (sadly there isn't a online guest feedback section for Pandora :O) and I made sure to recommend both of them as amazing employees and deserve to work at that location for as long as possible (HI KIMI <3~).

It was an amazing experience and I have no hesitation in going to that location or getting more Pandora charms in the near future. Me and YunJoo were both invited to this Holiday party event that they're holding on the 29th and selling a limited edition charm which usually sells out during that party so going to look into that. Fun day and can't wait to fill up my bracelet with the other 4-5 charms on my wish list.

Starbucks: Pumpkin Spice Awesomeness

Today I decided to talk about Starbucks popular October drink, Pumpkin Spice Latte!

To be honest, Ive only recently started going to Starbucks on a "general" basis. Ive always considered Starbucks very high class or "rich" type luxury that is directed to very successful, rich, individuals who either have a good steady career, job, business or their just rich?

This can easily be justified since many of their drinks are more than $3-4 dollars for the smallest size (TALL). However, though they truthful are more expensive and much more looked upon compared to competitors such as Tim Hortons (more for the general/poor population in some people minds, since you can get a drink as low as a $1.50), Second Cup, Coffee time etc, I believe they have good reason to be.

I actually really like Starbucks. There are many benefits in being a loyal customer and going there on a regular basis. Before I go into a detailed review on those benefits, lets just review the overall environment.

Starbucks is very inviting. Compared to other coffee and overall general fast food or coffee chains, Starbucks is more on the classy side. From all the main Starbucks I have visited, even if it was for a few minutes, I haven't had to worry about loud teenagers talking or giggling, immature people sitting and talking and have not yet had a bad experience with customer service. The environment is elegant, especially within the more "high class" areas. Most times during the day its quiet (besides from the blender roaring away). Usually people are doing school work, business related assignments, online blogging or to just there to have some relaxation time. Summer time is also fun when the patio is open and talking with a good group of friends or planning for future vacations or investments are always fun.

When I bought my Pandora bracelet, the employee told me about her sister who had went to Starbucks every single day, either after school or on her days off to find a boyfriend. She went so often that they eventually hired her part time. Eventually, she went from zero boyfriend, to 4 candidates. I guess Starbucks is a good place to meet that "special someone"

Now for the benefits of Starbucks that I love and of course why I like pumpkin spice during the October season.

1. Loyalty Card/Rewards Program: This is one of the major perks I love and is a reason why many people go to Starbucks. I bought this card this summer and started the reward program. You collect 5 starts to be green and need 30 stars to be Gold. Once you get the Gold card (which has your name) you get to collect more stars for free drinks (12 star- 1 free drink @ any size!!), get exclusive deals and specials, and once you reach another 30 stars it renews your Gold Card for another year. So if you go to Starbucks on the regular, your pretty much set. Pretty Nice compared to other places where you have to signup for a credit card before getting points/deals ex.Tim hortons.
2. Low Fat/Non Fat or Variety of combinations for Weight Loss: One thing about being on diets or trying to lose weight is having to cut off the sugary stuff which usually includes luxury drinks like these. However, thanks to Starbucks having MANY option, from choices of  what type of milk, whip cream and flavouring shots, you can make your drink low in calories and be more on the healthy side. Pretty nice to lose weight and still enjoy the luxury of a nice vanilla bean latte.

3. Customer Service: Finally, Starbucks really tries their best with pleasing there customers. I for one have no patience in that department cause some people are damn right stuck up and Starbucks is were you meet at least 10/day. One negative of being a shop that services successful range of individuals who are high on the hierarchy is dealing with VERY specific, annoying, you better get my drink right or Im contacting your HR customers. When I worked at Cineplex we got those type of people all the time. Example:

 I want my drink extra extra hot, with 2 shots of vanilla, half a shot of mint no sugar added, with non fat milk, no foam and Splenda must be put in the milk and steamed...

^ Yes that has actually been requested before.... Don't go to cineplex and expect that "kind" of service

Anyways, going back to Pumpkin Spice, I can defiantly understand its popularity. If made correctly, the flavour is just a perfect amount, blended well with the foam and whip cream, and at a really good temperature that really puts you in the October mood. Having it today with Starbucks Bountiful Blueberry Muffin, egg and bacon really lightened my mood of "Grumpy" Nurse who finished her Night shift. 

Anyways, thats my opinion of my Starbucks experience so far. Summer bring my favourite Mocha Cookie Crumble Frap and now Fall is my Pumpkin Spice Latte. Im not very familiar with Christmas drinks but I will defiantly be trying them this year.

Nintendo 3DS XL- Smash Bros Edition & Pokemon X Review

Since I wasn't able to get my Goose or Moose knuckle (Moment of silence......) I decided to move on to the next item on my list of "stuff I want" which was a 3DS XL console. 

I have always wanted one in the past but with Nursing and studying for the licence exam, I knew I would never have time to play. Now that I have a career, I figured this would keep me company during my night shifts where I cant use my computer and on the long bus rides. 

So I went to EB Games on Saturday with the Mama and saw that the Smash Bro version was released. Now, to be completely honest I wanted the Persona Q; Shadow of Labyrinth version which looked like this: 

 I loved this version better for its colour and nice design. Suppose to look like a book and the back design was pretty cute. I do love blue (my second favourite colour) and I wouldn't need to purchase a skin from Decal Girl to cover up the design compared to me getting the plain 3DS XL. However, when I inquired about it the EB games, the workers stated it was only released in Japan T___T (sadness)!!! So that got shot down pretty quickly.

So at this point, I saw the Smash Bros edition. I asked if they had a floor display model that I could see but they hadn't any available. So it came down to the point where I would either pay $200 for a plain red/blue 3DS XL or get the limited edition 3DS XL Smash Bro edition. 

OBVIOUSLY I would go for the limited edition one >3>. At least I wouldn't necessarily NEED a skin for it and once I get bored and tired of the current design I could than get a skin for it. So I got it for $200, paid $25 bucks for 1 year warranty. So when I opened it in the car while waiting for pizza, I was actually impressed. 

 The front has a beautiful shiny/glossy look to it, very beautiful in the light and the metallic sliver outline of the smash bro characters were superb. Though Im not really into the red (I didn't know there was a blue version but only at certain Eb Game locations) but honestly is a very nice design and overall finish. So I bought this console and of course had to choose a game SO decided to start off with Pokemon X edition. 

So this is overall what I bought. In total my cost was around $275 for the Game console, Pokemon X, clear rubber case to protect the console (from dropping it, even though Im not the clumsy type and Ive never dropped my game consoles before such as PSP, PSP GO, DS regular etc), console protection and paid for the game protection. With my purchase I got the Shiny Gengar since the event is going on till Oct. 26. From October 27-Nov. 12 is the Diancie event which basically is giving you (FOR FREE) a card to get Diancie in Pokemon X, and once Pokemon Omega Ruby/Sapphire comes out you can transfer her over and Mega Evolve Danicie (well you get the stone to make her mega or something along those lines). Apparently she is a big deal cause "she" an unobtainable mythological creature.  Anyways, here are the two pokemon I'm getting for free Thanks to this event at EB Games.

Pokemon X Review: 

So I haven't been able to play much or go far in the game (once I finish the game officially maybe ill do an update on it) but THIS GAME IS EPIC!!!!!!!!! Now let me explain why...

1. THE GRAPHICS ARE AMAZING! I have never seen graphic on the DS like this for a pokemon game (any game that I can personally say will always have amazing graphics is Kingdom Hearts or ANY Square Enix game invented). Even without the 3D, the graphics are very beautiful. The amount of detail placed into this game to really make the surroundings "pop" out is really displayed. When you start out, your room alone is very top notch and I personally love how you change out of your PJ's (and note that your character is holding the Pickachu limited edition 3DS that came out a while back). 

2. The battle style also has improved tremendously, the 3D adding to the effects and really makes you feel your in the game catching and battling these pokemon. 

3. Ive always been a fire type pokemon chooser since I think ALL fire types in every single pokemon game look amazing (i didn't like Tepig, he was ugly out of all them -3-) and are OP cant lie. Though thats my personal bias. So once I got to choose my started, I wanted a FEMALE Fennekin! Now let me just emphasize FEMALE!!!!!! After 25-30 software resets (I honestly almost gave up), I finally got a female Fennekin and continued on with the story (apparently its a 12.5% chance of getting a female starter pokemon compared to the 87.5% chance of getting a male starter since they don't want to make it so easy for breeding). 

4. Character customization has improved greatly and I can actually be a BLACK or " DARK SKINNED"  individual in the game :D 

Being able to finally choose skin colour is major improvement compared to previous pokemon games and I believe further in the game customization is even better and unique. Since I haven't reached that far into the game yet, I guess I'll have to wait and see. 

So far Im just impressed. The worker at EB games really pressed on how this game is REALLY good but I didn't expect such major improvements. Really makes me value the game. Anyways, this is as far as I write (its 6am currently and I want to at least catchup on Fate Stay Night episode). I love the console, the 3D effect is nice (though it strains your eyes over time so I just turn it on/off when needed) and I love my cute character :P. I will finish off my blog with ONE LAST ADORABLE PICTURE, which I randomly found (this blog today was really spammed with pictures lol).
